Sometimes the incontinence is caused by diabetes. You can give insulin to diabetic dogs. You could contact your vet and discuss potential treatments.

If it is just simply incontinence, you may want to purchase some washable diapers.

Congrats on keeping your girl for 12 yrs! My 3 yr Great Dane has incontinence, and after a vet check, urinalysis, and blood work to rule out any other problems our vet gave her Proin 75. He said if that didn’t work we could give her a low dose hormone. The Proin 75 works great though. It makes her a little excited after taking it so we give it in the AM. No diapers needed, no more accidents.

My older girl has had the same problems with urinary incontinence. Not uncommon in older spayed girls. We tried her on Proin first. Vet said there was fewer side effects. She was still having trouble & I didn’t like how she acted on increased dosages. We put her on low dose DES hormones. Has worked like a charm!
A 12 yr old Dane!!!!! Fantastic!!!!!!!
